Welcome to LionTrakzz Interim Management. My name is Lutz Schmelzer and I am passionate about selling and marketing consumer goods. I offer extensive expertise from 20 years spent working in international brand corporations – as a specialist in key account management, category management, sales operations, consumer marketing and trade marketing. This is the instinct that I have been honing for 20 years as a successful manager in the consumer goods industry. And it is this instinct that I will use to guide your company onto the right track.

Anyone who wants to be successful when chasing market share needs coordination as well as strength. In other words, strategy, processes and roles must be perfectly aligned in order for sales and marketing to develop their full power.

Process management. A perfectly coordinated pride.

Outstanding products on their own are not enough to impress customers and sales partners in the highly competitive FMCG market. The key to success here is the perfect synchronisation of all sales and marketing activities.

The most highly professional marketing strategy won’t be able to achieve anything if, for instance, sales planning, category management, demand planning and logistical processes are not properly aligned. And even a highly attuned sales force will hardly be able to achieve their targets without good documentation and the right preparations in place in production, logistics, marketing and controlling.

In my previous roles, I have demonstrated successfully how sustainable category and brand growth can be achieved by aligning innovative marketing, intelligent sales planning and sales management, and contemporary price and conditions management.

Strategy. Conquering and holding onto the best territories.

In nature, staking claim to a territory is essential for survival. In terms of the consumer goods industry, this means that a clearly defined sales and marketing strategy is part of a company’s success. All activities should be aligned with the strategy, which provides orientation for staff and ensures differentiation on the market.

It is precisely because the strategy is so essential that it needs to be revisited at regular intervals. Carrying on as before quickly leads to disadvantages. With an impartial eye, I will help you answer some key questions: Is your brand image still in keeping with the times? Do you need a new communication strategy? Are you still reaching your target groups? Do you have the right product mix breadth and depth? Is your price and conditions system out of date? Which distribution strategy should you choose for your brands and products? And do you have the right balance of distribution channels, whether online or offline?

In many cases, I have demonstrated how brands can be repositioned quite dramatically through a courageous disruptive approach, or how the right fine-tuning can give a strategy a stronger impact.
